Paeonia 'Mme. Chiang Kai-Shek'

MME CHIANG KAI-SHEK (Payne, 1943) - Double - Yellow White - Very Early (Anemone). Pleasingly scented. One of the first of the Chinese varieties to bloom, ahead of Edulis Superba and Helen. Blooms a week earlier than Laura Dessert which it resembles in color, though distinctly different, with a stronger yellow center. Color between was yellow and primuline yellow (Ridgeway). Prolific bloomer. Flowers of good size, borne on strong stems well above a compact, shapely plant of rich dark green. Fine landscape variety also suitable for cut flower. Bulletin 90. |
