BIG BEN (Auten, 1943) - Double - Red - Early. Tall. Fragrant. Medium dark red bomb; opens well, large bloom on stiff stems. Continues to give promise as a most valuable addition to the list of commercial cut flower reds. Especially good in the South. Catalogs and List in Bulletin 91.

BIG BEN (1943) - D E. Tall dark red bomb. Fragrant. Good cut flower.

Big Ben (Auten 1943) M.  Bomb type; large flower is a muted, deep old rose red, very fragrant.  Vigorous, stout; tall, to 48 inches, in flower a well grown mature plant stands over most other peonies; a superb performer.

'Big Ben' (USA Auten 1943). Leuchtend violettrote, dicht gefüllte Bl mit Duft. Sehr auffallend und schön.

BIG BEN, Auten (USA), 1943, Paeonia lactiflora, Full double red flowers with little sidebuds. A stout variety thanks to her relatively fine leaflets, reddish stems and delicous and sweet fragrance. 'Big Ben' is a perfect variety for the combined (peony-)border. A well grown mature plant stands over most other peonies. With the modestly sized flowers it performs very well without support.

Big Ben (Auten, 1943) Red, bomb-type double, early-midseason, very fragrant, 36" tall, lactiflora cultivar. Medium red bomb center is framed by large guard petals. Opens well on stiff stems. Good in hot climates. Love that fragrance - rare in red peonies!
