BLACK VELVET (Murawska 1957) D.M. BR. Seedling No. not given. Parentage Chippewa X Matilda Lewis. Velvety black red, dull finish, medium size, globular bloom, three rows guard petals which holds the bomb intact on mature blooms. Stamens few and well hidden. Bulletin #146 September 1957.
