ILLINI BELLE (Glasscock, 1941) - Semi-Double - Red - Early - Hybrid. Four or five rows of brilliant, dark red rounded petals, yellow stamens, carpels green, tipped red. Albiflora x officinalis. Bulletin 83, list in 91.
ILLINI BELLE Flowers with petals that are almost a black red with a satiny sheen, opening semi-double, and showing contrasting fringed golden centre. Very upright stems, and dark green foliage. A colour that gives a valuable contrast to the lighter tones you are working with. Red 5Double, Early, no staking, 75cm.
