GENERAL DOUGLAS MacARTHUR (Rosenfield, 1942) - Semi-Double - Pink. Large beautifully formed, semi-rose type of clear light pink. Plant, strong, tall grower and good bloomer. Blossoms somewhat loosely formed with very small stamens at center of flower. No stamens intermingled with petals. Bulletin 87.

GENERAL GORGAS (Van Leeuwen, 1924) - Semi-Double - White - Midseason. Pleasing fragrance. Large, loose, white flowers, distinctly shaded to rose-pink at the center with stamens intermingled throughout the collar; guard petals are well differentiated and flushed and streaked with red; the center-band petals are conspicuously marked crimson. M.

GENE STRATTON-PORTER (Rosenfield, 1925) - Double - White. Tall, Cup shaped with fine incurving petals growing shorter toward the center much like MILTON HILL. Color absolutely immaculate white without tints or markings. Perfect rose type without stamens or carpels. Vigorous grower, stately, upright and free blooming. Foliage clean, light green. Bulletin 26. Lists in Bulletins 60 and 91. M.

GENEVIEVE (Lemoine, 1925) - Double - White. A very large creamy white with strong tall stems somewhat bending, blooming very late when it condescends to bloom at all. It is a great pity that so many glorious flowers like this one are so unreliable in blooming. List in Bulletin 60.

GENE WILD (Cooper-Wild & Son, 1956) - Double - Pink - Midseason. Full double, medium pink over white or medium to light pink. Good stems, opens well and lasts long. Excellent garden and show flower. Cooper #6. Bulletin 140.

Pale buff with a definite and persistent suffusion of pink, deepening to the center. Exactly the color of Solange except that the pronounced flush of pink gives the flower more life. Strong stems. Vigorous and floriferous. Seedling from LADY ALEXANDRA DUFF. Bulletin 73.

GEORGE W. TRYON (Richardson) - Double - Light Rose - M.

GEORGIA MONTAGUE - Shown by R. A. Napier, Rockford, Illinois, 1946. Bulletin 102, page 20.

Light rose-pink, paler on backs of petals, vivid crimson marks on a ring of short petals around center. Floriferous; good stems and foliage. Unusually broad petals of heavy texture and uneven length but well placed. Generally considered exceptionally good for both garden decoration and cutting. M.

GERMAINE (Origin unknown) - Jap. - Red - M.

GERAMINE BIGOT (Dessert, 1902) - Double - Lilac Rose - Midseason. Medium height. Odor like chrysanthemums. Large. Light rose-pink, loosely formed, showing stamens which blacken quickly; it develops a crown slowly and irregularly showing flesh-pink tints and prominent crimson edges; floriferous; strong stems. Very good foliage. A dependable peony for general utility. The flowers are irregular but their worst fault is the discoloration of the stamens. M.

GERTRUDE (Origin unknown) - Jap. - Rose - M.

GERTRUDE GIBSON (Rosenfield, 1939) - Double - White - Late. Medium height. White with a suggestion of lemon yellow upon first opening. Perfect rose type somewhat suggestive of a huge Frau Karl Druschki rose. Clean healthy foliage well distributed along the stem and which retains its fresh green color well into the fall of the year.
