Xue Hai Bing Xin. China. Chinese rockii cultivar. Xue Hai Bing Xin has large white single flowers with maroon-black flares that have a pink blush around the flares. Pink stigmas and sheath. Filaments are light cream in color. The striking flowers are carried in profusion on tall plants with outstanding foliage. Foliage is deep blue green, finely cut and remains in outstanding condition throughout the growing season (much better than other rockii cultivars). This is the tallest growing rockii we grow, reaching nearly 6 feet after 10 years. Plants are taller than wide and produce a nicely vase shaped shrub. Extremely hardy stems show no winter damage to -32F. Like many rockii cultivars, it is slow to grow in the first year or two, but makes rapid growth once established. Fertile both ways. Recommended for cold winter climates. Very limited. |
