En Crimée, P. mascula subsp. triternata se rencontre dans les mêmes zones que P. tenuifolia et a produit un hybride naturel nommé P. triternata x P. tenuifolia par Maleev (1937/1947).
- I don't know, where the name comes from. In Eric Schmitt's paper this name does not appear, but later Hong and Passalaqua referred in slideshows of Symposiums of the German Peony Group to this name. The source of Malejew is linked above.
